Storyblok: Migration to Cloudflare Infrastructure for Bruker Alloytester
Metal analysis with handheld XRF spectrometer
"The team at dkd helped us greatly in helping us optimize and bring to life a relaunched website that was working sub-optimally. Following a negative experience with another agency we were very happy with dkd who made us feel listened to, looked after and understood the brief. dkd helped us in solving bugs on the relaunched website, improving the UX and implementing changes to our content management system that gave us independence - allowing us to do web administration without having to rely on external developers.
We were really happy with dkd's service and to know we can get in touch with them again should we ever need more development help!"

Challenge
Our client faced several challenges with their existing website, which had been developed by a previous agency. The primary concern was the lack of flexibility in managing and updating content. Even the smallest change required a complete redeployment of the site, which was not possible without external support. This not only led to unnecessary delays, but also to additional costs.
Another problem was the inadequate functionality of the sitemap, which did not meet the requirements and made it difficult to optimise the page structure. In addition, essential SEO elements and form IDs could not be changed directly through the editor. These limitations prevented the client from effectively managing the website themselves and affected the site's visibility in search engines. The customer wanted fast response times for implementation and the ability to publish content independently.
Solution
In response to these challenges, we made extensive technical improvements to significantly increase the website's performance and improve its usability for our customers. One of the key changes was to switch the website from statically rendered pages to a dynamic server-side rendering variant. This was made possible by using Cloudflare Workers, which now delivers the site more efficiently and responsively.
Another focus was optimizing the sitemap implementation by ensuring that all language versions are now rendered correctly. This not only promotes visibility, but also significantly improves the website's search engine optimisation. Furthermore, we carried out several minor styling optimisations and improved usability for content editors by structuring the page story. The structure of the pages was reorganised so that the customer is now able to manage form IDs and SEO IDs independently. These adjustments make content editing much easier and contribute to a better user experience.
In addition, by moving the website and domain to Cloudflare, we have given our customer full control over hosting. This not only means more freedom and independence in managing the website, but also the ability to make changes efficiently without external help.
These comprehensive measures have significantly increased the website's performance and strengthened our customer's autonomy, leading to higher overall satisfaction.
