Our customer DMG Chemisch-Pharmazeutische Fabrik GmbH has been making the daily work of dentists and laboratories easier for over 50 years with innovative brand-name products »Made in Germany«.
Requirement:
The customer's website was to be technically revised as part of a responsive relaunch based on the TYPO3 content management system and expanded to include a product database. The new multilingual, responsive website relaunch was initially only launched for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with other countries gradually following suit. Currently, 11 countries have been implemented, with two more to follow. Furthermore, there was a desire for a search function for the field service page by postcode, an integrated small shop solution and an online academy.
Solution:
An integrated product database allows and facilitates data maintenance for editors directly in the TYPO3 content management system. Products are categorised automatically, minimising the time factor. With the Icon Info Shop, dentists can order information brochures directly on the website, which provide the necessary information for shipping via a generated email. In addition, a small shop for ordering selected DMG products was made available via ‘Formhandler’. Special attention is paid to the DMG Online Academy. The DMG Online Academy is an e-learning platform for DMG sales partners with the aim of improving global support and training sales staff with sales-relevant knowledge about DMG products. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate.

Microsite: Drilling? No, thank you!
For your direct customers, DMG offers the Icon page, an information platform that describes infiltration treatment with Icon and also provides a dentist finder for your customers.
The new microsite was delivered as an HTML prototype and integrated and implemented in the existing TYPO3 DMG instance. The site was adapted to the wishes and needs of an editor and a self-written extension for the dentist finder was integrated. The relaunch of the site was organised in such a way that the old site remained accessible for other languages until these were gradually migrated as well. Seven languages are now available.
The dentist finder, which makes up a large part of the site, is also available in multiple languages. Dentists can now register themselves on the site. Previously, this was only possible using a PDF form that had to be sent by fax. Now, every dentist can register in accordance with the GDPR using double opt-in, change their data and check it. Reminders are sent out automatically every year to keep the database up to date. Furthermore, the country managers are informed when a new dentist registers in their area.
