Challenge
As part of this extensive project, we worked closely with two other agencies to successfully implement the requirements of our client DEUTZ AG. BRAINfive – Agency for Brand Identity took on the creative direction as the leading brand and design agency and developed a comprehensive design concept. Due to the size of the project, both we and the digital agency Friendventure GmbH were responsible for the technical implementation. Friendventure GmbH was responsible for the basic TYPO3 configuration and implemented the design and basic functions. As DEUTZ AG's long-standing TYPO3 agency, we at dkd contributed our expertise by developing various components of the DEUTZ website and ensuring smooth deployment and a successful go-live process.
The initial challenges we faced in this project were taking over the website, which had previously been updated to TYPO3 by Friendventure GmbH. As part of the project takeover, we were tasked with changing the design of the main navigation and footer and restructuring them accordingly.
Another important point was troubleshooting various applications used on the website. In addition, the customer wanted to expand the website to include another microsite for all data protection enquiries. To ensure high availability of the website, it was necessary to set up a high-availability server infrastructure. At the same time, comprehensive SEO optimisations were to be carried out to improve the visibility and findability of the website for search engines.
Finally, the website should be migrated to the OneTrust Consent Management System to ensure legally compliant management of consent for cookies and other tracking technologies.
Solution
First, we designed and coordinated the main navigation in Adobe XD. This step was crucial in creating a clear and intuitive navigation system that meets user requirements. At the same time, we set up the repositories, including deployment in Gitlab. This enabled us to seamlessly version and deploy the code, which significantly accelerated and simplified the development process.
Finally, we reprogrammed the main navigation. The reprogramming ensured that the system not only complies with current standards, but is also future-proof and easily expandable. This coordinated approach enabled us to develop a robust and user-friendly solution that fully meets the requirements of the web project.
