TYPO3 Headless: Is this the future of content management?
TYPO3 Headless opens up the possibility of transforming the conventional TYPO3 CMS into a flexible headless CMS. This enables the seamless separation of frontend and backend and facilitates integration with other systems such as Shopware. At dkd, we are actively committed to driving forward solutions and innovations in this area in order to be able to quickly realise tailor-made and efficient projects. Our services are aimed at companies that want a highly customisable, powerful and user-friendly web presence that goes beyond the conventional limits of traditional CMS.
What does TYPO3 Headless mean?
TYPO3 Headless is a TYPO3 extension that enables dkd to transform the TYPO3 content management system into a headless CMS. Normally, TYPO3 is a monolithic system, i.e. the frontend and backend are closely linked.
With TYPO3 Headless, we can break this up and define our own frontend, which can then also be used by other systems such as Shopware, etc. Replacing the frontend with a modern JavaScript framework such as vue.js also opens up many new technical possibilities, such as dynamically reloading content without having to reload the entire page.
Current status of TYPO3 Headless at dkd
So far, we have created a standard package that serves as a kickstarter for future web projects. In addition, we have a demo instance that serves as a playground for us, where we can evaluate new features (container extensions such as the grid element counterpart, news, search, and much more) and technologies (Nuxt, Vue.js framework) , which may then be incorporated into our standard package.
The playground is not yet accessible from the outside, as we have not yet styled the current version. We are working on it and will certainly be able to present you with a first draft soon.
TYPO3 Headless | An exciting challenge
We are looking forward to the new challenges, because of course a lot of new expertise is required here. In addition, the headless approach offers many new and exciting possibilities that we would like to make available to our customers. Our team has already made great progress in the TYPO3 Headless environment. Thanks to our standard package, we can quickly set up headless projects and extend TYPO3 Headless with functions such as news, containers and content elements.
We are also able to connect different systems such as TYPO3 and Shopware. In addition, we can provide the necessary infrastructure for a TYPO3 Headless project.
Our expertise covers all aspects of the development and implementation of headless solutions in order to offer our customers tailor-made and efficient solutions.
For which companies is TYPO3 Headless recommended?
TYPO3 Headless is recommended for all companies that want to display data from multiple systems on their website. A classic example of this is content from a CMS mixed with functions from a shop system such as Shopware.
Customers who already operate a TYPO3 website can continue to use this foundation, as existing TYPO3 installations can also be converted.
TYPO3 Headless is also the right choice for customers who need a website that grows with them and their requirements, as additional systems can be connected at a later date.
Another target group is tech-savvy customers who have discovered the advantages of headless in terms of performance and UX.
